The Indian Journal of Orthopaedics (IJO) (ISSN 0019-5413) is an official peer-reviewed, open access publication of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) and is published on Bi-monthly basis in first week of January, March, May, July, September & November. The journal, first published on June 1, 1967, now reaches to over 9000 members of IOA, making it amongst the most read surgical speciality journals in India and South-East Asia.
This is an online manuscript processing system which allows submission of articles with tracking of its progress till proof stage. There is no submission and publication fee in Indian Journal of Orthopaedics (IJO). It’s free of cost. This is a non-profit journal. This process is simple and self-explanatory two stage process.
The decision on manuscripts is taken purely on the quality and relevance of the work. The Editor reserves the right to reject the manuscript. Authors have to certify that they have obtained all appropriate patient consent forms before submission of manuscript to IJO. The author will be held responsible for any false statement with regard to the ethical approval of the study and patient informed consent prior to inclusion in the study.
About the Society (Indian Orthopedic Association
Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) is one of the largest professional organizations which have more than 11000 active life members. It is a vibrant organization which focuses on academics, research and social networking. From the time of its formation in 1955, in these 62 years this organization has evolved into a strong professional body with many sub-committees and regional committees.
IOA is represented in all world Orthopaedic Forum like American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), Indian Orthopaedic Surgeon – United Kingdom (IOS-UK), Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeon and Traumatology (RCOST), Hongkong Orthopaedic Association (HKOA), Singapore Orthopaedic Association (SOA), SICOT and Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) etc.
Indian Orthopaedic Association celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2015. The 60th Annual Conference of IOA was a Diamond Jubilee Conference. During its 60 years of illustrious journey IOA has carved a niche for itself. It is the apex Orthopaedic body in India and has international members as well. One of the core activities to achieve this objective is the Indian Journal of Orthopaedics which is the official publication of IOA. The objective of the Association is advance the Science and Art of orthopaedic Surgery in the country.
